Boise offers fabulous dining options. A popular destination is “Restaurant Row,” located along 8th Street. Several excellent restaurants are located here. Tupelo Honey serves southern comfort food with a welcoming ambiance and modern flair. Fork prides itself on fresh farm-to-table American dishes in a space trimmed with brick and wood, giving it a warm and welcoming feel. Bodovino is described as “A total wine experience.” They have an extensive international wine list, and they serve tapas and sushi. Bodovino is a unique and classy place for a special date night. Experience the flavors of the open fire grill at Barbacoa, which was also named the 2005 winner for restaurant design.

Eureka offers gourmet burgers, craft beer, and cocktails in a restaurant with a trendy rustic industrial feel. It is a relaxing place for a casual dinner and drinks with friends. Hyde Park is another area downtown that is known for dining. Some of Hyde Park’s dining spots are Goody’s Soda Fountain, Parilla Grill, Hyde Park Pub and Grill, North End Pizza, and Sun Ray Cafe and 13th Street Pub and Grill. Entertainment options also abound in Boise. Live theater and entertainment venues include 

Idaho Shakespeare Festival, The Egyptian Theater, Boise Contemporary Theater, Boise Little Theater, and the Morrison Center. The Morrison Center is also the home of the Boise Philharmonic. Boise also has many contemporary movie theaters, but for classic and Indy films, there is The Flicks: Rick’s Cafe American. Boise has many wildly popular clubs, including The Balcony, Club Karma on 8th, The Shredder, Liquid Lounge Comedy Club, The Buffalo Club, Lounge at the end of the Universe, Ochos, and for live concerts, there is The Knitting Factory. Downtown Boise is the go-to for upscale and unique shopping. The streets are home to many boutiques, gift shops, clothing stores, and antique and vintage stores.

Boise has dozens of parks, each offering unique amenities. The parks are favorite destinations where folks can enjoy hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, fishing, watersports, and more. Popular parks include Camel’s Back Park, Kathryn Albertson Park, Ann Morrison, Boise Whitewater Park and Julia Davis Park. The Old Idaho Penitentiary site has a botanical garden, a museum, and miles of trails. Scenic trails can be found at Hulls Gulch Reserve & Camel’s Back Park, the Boise River Greenbelt Trail, and the Ridge to Rivers Trail System

The Boise River runs through town, offering residents the opportunity to engage in water activities like boating, kayaking, rafting, paddleboarding, swimming, tubing, and fishing. Stop by the Boise Whitewater Park to practice your kayaking or surfing skills right on the Boise River. 

Bogus Basin Recreation Area is one of the best spots for skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. In the summertime, Bogus Basin has miles of hiking and mountain bike trails, tubing, a climbing wall, and an alpine coaster. 

Boise is home to several fun and exciting festivals and events throughout the year. Families enjoy outdoor live theater at the Shakespeare Festival and live music, food, and entertainment at the Russian Food Festival, Treefort Music Festival, Jazz Festival, and Alive After Five.

The area also features a Farmers Market on Saturdays and is home to dozens of wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Other unique and interesting places in Boise are the World Center for Birds of Prey, Aquarium of Boise, Zoo Boise, Boise Art Museum, Idaho State Historical Museum, and the Discovery Center.
